For the record I don't mind being overtaken by motorists.
As long as it is done safely & is worth doing.
But with slow moving traffic it is often pointless.
When considering if I am holding up traffic it is worth remembering that the majority of delays to drivers are caused by other motor vehicles, road works, traffic calming measures (speed humps etc) and red lights.
The few seconds that I/other cyclists hold up drivers is almost always insignificant in comparison to delays by other causes (above).
The only times that motor vehicles would be significantly held up to justify cyclists moving over (if safe) to allow overtaking are on Xmas Day or on a race track.
I should point out that my average speed, on my £50 second hand bike and me not being very physically fit, during a London commute is 12 mph (this includes stopping at red lights etc) whilst the average speed of motor traffic is 11mph or less during rush hour.

Looking back at this is terrifying as without the last second swerve the driver would have wiped me out. The police issued an NIP and I hope the driver got points and fine rather than just an awareness course, but I don't know.

That 2 metre clearance is for cars overtaking cyclists, not the other way round. And secondly, he was filtering through traffic, which is legal. And that’s a lot of swearing and name calling for no reason but for your ignorance and pathetic view on the world, grow up mate and be happy, not angry at the world and people who are better than you 😊
Where I live they've banned cars from coming down to the school to pick up and drop off their kids. It's an instant fine if they do it. It's a lot safer now.
There are 3 riding positions on the road 1. The gutter (where you ride and promote close passing) 2. Secondary, one metre from the left edge of road (this is the normal position, until there is a need for keeping yourself safe). 3. Primary position, at the very least in the center of the lane (when approaching islands, cycling past turnings from the left, in heavy traffic like your situation to stop close passes. Take your position early. To most drivers you're not a human being, nothing more than an equal road user or an annoying obstacle. Good luck .

Incorrect, Rule H3 of the Highway Code: You should not cut across cyclists, horse riders or horse drawn vehicles going ahead when you are turning into or out of a junction or changing direction or lane, just as you would not turn across the path of another motor vehicle. This applies whether they are using a cycle lane, a cycle track, or riding ahead on the road and you should give way to them.

If people are out of the truck and walking around it then it's safe to assume the truck driver blocked the road to stop idiots like the white car from mounting the curb and knocking over a worker. You don't know the whole situation.

Number plates do not come under GDPR rules as they are in the public domain. Also, number plates are owned by the DVLA not the registered keeper of the vehicle.
Why after seeing the driver wrongly passing on the pavement, do you deliberately cause a confrontation.
Watch it again. The Hyundai driver, on the wrong side of the road, driving on the pavement, started the conflict by aggressively sounding his horn at the cyclist. So the cyclist retaliated - wouldn't you?

Telling anyone with a driving license they have made a error is more than they can bear. Everyone who drives on British roads thinks they are professional and expert and no amount of discussion will persuade them otherwise. Better to just record and report to police and not discuss.
WHY didn't you just drive around? You started the the trouble by "confronting" the driver, just go around and get on with your Day
If you want to go down the "who started it" route... Why didn't the driver assess the situation and simply slow down, letting the cyclists pass the bus stop, making it safer for the bus to stop, instead of endangering another road user for the sake of a few seconds. Why confront the driver? Because ignoring such incidents does nothing to hold the perpetrators to task and therefore reinforces their belief that they did nothing wrong, until they seriously hurt somebody - and that somebody might just be you, so get with the programme.
On behalf oh Hyundai drivers I apologise. I can only imagine his BMW was in for repair.

They used to be a classy brand back in the 80s. I had a 318i company car, it never even entered my head to show off and speed everywhere, it was simply a nice quality car to drive. We just had a different attitude back then. Today a lot of people drive BMWs because anyone with a job can get them on PCP finance which I think has devalued the image to the point where its as though the car itself is secondary to the image they are trying to portray when behind the wheel.
